Elmo puzzle .... no more

Bernice was into Elmo, big bird and cookie monster, so i got her a Elmo and big bird puzzle from ebay. The buyer said that the paint on elmo's nose wore off, but it did not really bother me since it was just $9 and she would be so thrilled to see elmo and big bird. After many attempts of arranging to meet the seller, i finally got it the last Thursday, showed it to Bernice, she was happy and immediately name Elmo as "Amo" instead of "momo" which she used to call it and Big bird as "bi bir".

Daddy asked me why Elmo's nose and feet had paint peeling off, i just said it could be due to wear and tear. This morning, while i was out, that elmo puzzle caught his attention again, he decided to wash it and was disturbed that he could scratch off the paint. He turned the puzzle behind and true enough to him, it was made in China, from Mattel company.

If you could recall, last year, toys from Mattel company were recalled. Toys such as polly pocket, pixar cars and so on were recalled.

Without hesitation, the elmo puzzle was thrown away.

I went online, searched the internet and found the following article...

Mattel Toy Recall List
NEW YORK (CBS News) ― Mattel has recalled 9 million Chinese-made toys, including Polly Pockets play sets and Batman action figures, because of dangers to children from lead paint or tiny magnets that could be swallowed.

Two weeks ago, Mattel's Fisher-Price division announced the worldwide recall of 1.5 million Chinese-made preschool toys — featuring characters such as Dora the Explorer, Big Bird and Elmo — over lead paint.

Arrrgh, and she put Elmo's head into her mouth once....
