Bernice went for her nine month medical assessment yesterday. Physical components like sitting, standing while holding, hearing, following a toy were alright. As usual, head was big, 90th percentile, weight average 50th, but... she is short, height only 10th percentile, got to make her jump more next time.
Hai, 3 problems:
1) fontanelle was still very soft, but doctor says its ok, usually will close or harden by 18months
2) head a little big, but this was not too bad, as her head has been big all along, so as long as it is not a sudden increase, it is ok
3) When she did her eye examination with the torch shone into her eyes, the doctor said she has a partial squint in her left eye. Squint means her pupils are not following the direction of her sight, something to do with her eye muscles. Partial squint meaning sometimes she can follow, sometimes she cant. And, she was refered to KKH eye paediatrician. Hopefully, it will turn out to be a pseudo squint, then she will grow out of it and she wun need any operation or any patches attached to her eye. Pseudo squint usualy occurs to Asian babies due to their nose bridge which causes the squint.
Anyway, we will only know on 10th Jan, the scheduled appointment at KKH. Mean while, her left eye still looks normal to me.
